Huntsville Theatre Company

It is with a heavy heart that we announce The Huntsville Theatre Company has decided to cancel the remainder of the 2019/2020 season. This includes "Boeing Boeing," "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf"? and our Theatre is My Passion program. We expect to re-start our monthly What's on Tap Series in September 2020 and also to provide our monthly Artists Teaching Artists Workshops online for the time being.

We have decided that in light of the global COVID-19 situation, it is irresponsible for us to take any other course at this time.

As performers and community theatre advocates, we are eternal optimists and have decided that with the exceptional talent we have committed to our shows we cannot simply cancel the shows. Therefore, we will be adding "Boeing Boeing" and "Virginia Woolf" into our 2020/2021 season. This means we will have 6 regular season shows next year: one every two months. This may seem ambitious but we know how much theatre contributes to our community. We especially feel it is important in the year of our 10th anniversary to go for it all!

As a community theatre company we rely entirely on the support of the community. So - here is where we come to the most important part of our announcement. We need your help. We have operational costs that, with two postponed shows, a cancelled program and cancelled monthly events, we are struggling to meet. If you are able to contribute to our company with financial support, the PDF available here provides information on how you can help. As artists we tend to overshare but we feel transparency is very important in the current climate. We know that this is a very difficult time for so many people and we cannot wait until we are back to providing live performing arts. Trust us...we miss the stage.

In the meantime, we are creating free content on social media and if you do not currently follow us, please do. We believe in the arts and feel that for so many, the arts are helping get us through these ever-changing times.
