Write the Truth, Kyra Evans

Kyra believes that all good writing begins with a seed of truth. This workshop will teach you how to find and connect with that truth, and to create from the state of freedom it provides. This is a 2 hours workshop.

Playwright Competition

January 25, 2020 8PM

Participants will have one hour to write a 3-5 minute play based on a theme to be announced at the event. All plays will be performed in front pf a panel of judges. Playwrights may come with their own actors & directors or choose from willing audience participants. The winning play will open one performance of the Huntsville Theatre Company's upcoming show, Perfect Pie, at the Algonquin Theatre.

Maureen Cassidy

TV/Commercial Audition

Maureen Cassidy is a professional stage and television actor and has appeared in over a hundred television commercials. Her original, one-woman play Eighteen Degrees (North Bay & SpringWorks Festival, Stratford) centre on her recent harrowing real life experiences.


She has adjudicated and created acting workshops across Ontario for both the International Thespian and the Sears & NTS Drama Festivals.  Maureen has been part of the Theatre Arts faculty at Canadore College since 2007 teaching modern and contemporary scene study, acting fundamentals, on-camera acting, Shakespeare, and commercial auditioning.  Maureen is a North Bay native and a graduate of the York University Theatre Performance Program.
